This photograph was taken within the Adelaide-Himeji Gardens in Adelaide, Australia. It is a Japanese garden, created with the assistance of Japanese landscapers, to celebrate the sister-city relationship between the cities of Adelaide and Himeji (Japan).
This element of the garden is a lake called S'enzui. The photograph captures the still waters of the waters, the waterlilies, a stone water-viewing lantern and an overall green lushness.
The following text is taken from the official brochure for the Adelaide-Himeji Gardens Pamphlet:
"As the heart of the Garden, the lake's form is based on the character 'shin', which means 'heart' or 'soul'. The calm water suggests purity and tranquillity of the heart, which Buddhists believe is necessary if you are to achieve enlightenment: the ultimate happiness. Water flows into the lake from a small waterfall which recalls the wild mountain torrents of Japan."
